About Yoga-Flow
“Only through the experiences of life
can the soul be perfected” Durga Saptashati
Yoga-Flow encompasses various forms of yoga - dynamic vinyasa flow, pregnancy yoga, mother & baby yoga and healing restorative yoga. Which form is right for you depends on your individual needs and goals. All classes teach students invaluable relaxation techniques, reducing stress and therefore the serious health risks that long term stress poses. The combination of mindful breathing (pranayama) and asana (postures) detoxifies, improves posture, tones and strengthens the body. The physical, mental and emotional health benefits of yoga and meditation have long been reported by practitioners and are now being confirmed by scientific research.

Ultimately, yoga is a path to self-awareness and happiness. When we recognise and re-connect to our true nature of peace, contentment and harmony, a state of being that often escapes us in this complex and fast-paced world, we can share and apply this in daily life, thus moving towards our highest potential.
Yoga-Flow offers yoga classes designed to invigorate as well as promote wellbeing on a physical, mental and emotional level, as all three are inextricably linked. Yoga-Flow will help you work towards a more supple and toned physique, building endurance and agility, increasing energy levels and restoring a sense of physical and emotional freedom. Mobility will improve particularly in the spine, shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle. You don't need to have a flexible body to start with. All you need is to gently focus on breathing, releasing, and being flexible with your mind. Great attention is given to safety and correct alignment. |

Vinyasa Flow Yoga / Dynamic Yoga
Vinyasa flow yoga, sometimes called dynamic yoga, is a form of hatha that links breath and movement in a continuous flow of postures. The practice is creative, in that sequences are fluid, ever changing, symbolising our ever-evolving lives. Asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques) are carefully woven together to detoxify, stretch, and strengthen the body and build ‘prana’ or life force energy. This combination of breath, movement, and inner focus builds an internal heat that heals and revitalizes mind, body and spirit. Classes end with a guided relaxation and meditation, leaving students feeling peaceful and re-energised. Classes are open to all. |

Pregnancy Yoga
Ante-natal yoga is a very enjoyable, appropriate and safe form of exercise during pregnancy. It will prepare expectant mothers for childbirth, physically, mentally, and emotionally and ease the discomforts that most pregnancies bring.

Postnatal Yoga / Mother & Baby Yoga
The months after birth are an important time for your body. The immense changes undergone during pregnancy and labour take their toll on the muscles, joints and in particular, the pelvic floor. Mother and baby classes are a wonderful opportunity to realign the spine, regain your strength and tone, internally as well as externally and take some much deserved time to restore energy levels and relax.

Restorative Yoga (one to one sessions only)
Restorative yoga focuses very much on soothing and healing the body and mind. It is a very slow, gentle and passive form of yoga, that uses blankets, cushions, yoga blocks and even walls or chairs for support so that the body may benefit from the yoga poses with minimal effort. The classes encourage students to re-connect to their bodies and minds, to regain lost mobility, strength and a sense of control, through the breath and gentle movement. Classes end with yoga nidra, a long guided relaxation leaving the entire system rested and nourished, promoting internal harmony and therefore good health. |
