Yoga is very beneficial to pregnant women on many levels - it teaches you to
breathe more efficiently, getting fresh oxygen round the body and to the baby
so is very nourishing to both mother and child(ren). It teaches you relaxation
techniques to help you with the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy,
labour, birth, and motherhood. It soothes the nervous system, balances the
endocrine system which governs hormones and creates harmony both in mind and
body, providing the physical and emotional stress relief your body needs
throughout the experience of pregnancy. General health is improved, and the
immune system boosted. The spine will be strengthened and back pain eased.
Pregnancy yoga is believed to make the birth itself an easier experience
because of the many hip and pelvis opening postures practised as well as the
strengthening of the pelvic floor. The practice of pregnancy yoga also
enhances the connection and the essential bond between mother and baby.
Pregnancy yoga classes will be starting very soon from
my home in Pyrford or if you prefer to be taught privately in the comfort of
your own home this is also possible.
